New York City mayoral candidates explain their plans to address food insecurity, sustainability, and workers’ rights.

CUNY Urban Food Policy Institute asked these questions in collaboration with NYC’s leading hunger, nutrition, and food systems groups that organized the Mayoral Food Forum 2021: Town Hall on the Future of Food in New York City, the CUNY Urban Food Policy Institute asked New York City mayoral candidates about their plans to address food insecurity, sustainability, and workers’ rights. Questions included how they would decrease poverty and end hunger in New York City and what specific steps they will take to increase the participation of eligible New Yorkers in federally-funded programs, such as SNAP and WIC. We asked all candidates running for their views, and 10 are those that responded. Click on each candidate to read their plans.
